About Us

Broadfield Community Centre is the only independent community centre in Broadfield - in fact the only community centre in Broadfield now that the two Council-run ones have been closed. It was built at roughly the same time as Broadfield was added to Crawley in the 1970s. It is located on the Broadfield Barton shopping parade opposite the health centre and library.

The land is owned by two churches, Church of England and Roman Catholic, who let the land for the use of the community. The Centre itself is overseen by trustees from the churches and managed by a general council comprising representatives from the churches, centre hirers, the borough and county councils, and the wider community. (See the Who's Who page for more details.)

In other words the Centre is run by the people of Broadfield for the people of Broadfield. Offers of help are always welcome!

The centre is managed day-to-day by Julie Waghorn, and is hired out to many organisations on a regular basis.

The halls and rooms can also be hired out to the public for events from as little as £4, see the Facilities and Hiring pages for further information
